The County is offering free
COVID-19 vaccines at our pop-up clinics. The Moderna, Pfizer and Novavax vaccines are
available. Walk-ins are welcome. Anyone under 18 MUST be accompanied by a
parent or guardian.
Everyone 6 months or older is
eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine in New Jersey and encouraged to get vaccinated
as soon as possible.
We have a
weekly vaccine/testing clinic every Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. here at
the Monmouth County Health Department. More information about our testing
clinics can be found here.
* UNLESS A VACCINE CLINIC IS SCHEDULED FOR THAT
DAY, PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT LOCATED AT 50 EAST MAIN STREET
IN FREEHOLD FOR A VACCINE. *
The virus that causes COVID-19 changes
over time. Keep your protection up to date by getting an updated COVID-19
vaccine booster. The updated COVID-19 vaccine boosters include components of
the original virus strain and the Omicron variant. This is called a bivalent
COVID-19 vaccine.
Adults ages 65 years and older and people
who are immunocompromised may receive an additional updated, bivalent vaccine
dose.
Individuals ages 6 years and older who
have already received a bivalent booster dose do not need to take any action
unless they are 65 years or older or immunocompromised.
For young children, multiple doses
continue to be recommended and will vary by age, vaccine, and which vaccines
were previously received.
For more information on eligibility and
timing, please check out info from CDC.
