The 2023 season for the Greener Blue Pump Out Boat will begin operations on Friday, May 26, 2023! We look forward to servicing you this summer!

The boat continues to be owned and maintained by the Monmouth County Health Department and operated by the NY/NJ Baykeeper organization through a cooperative agreement since 2015. Since the inception of the Pump Out Boat program, we serviced 21,295 boats and properly disposed of 702,700 gallons of sewage over its 22 years operation.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING WEATHER RELATED SCHEDULE CHANGES: Please be advised that the days and hours of operation are subject to change depending on river and weather conditions. The boat is not equipped to operate in rough water or inclement weather conditions. Weather related schedule changes will be made at the sole discretion of the Captain. We will make every attempt to update this website regarding schedule changes or cancellations. Check the website frequently for the most current schedule information. We may add operating days as needed.


The Greener Blue will be in service from on Fridays and Saturdays starting Friday, May 26, 2023. The approximate hours of operation will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Service is available in the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers. Service is also provided up to the Atlantic Highlands Marina on the Raritan Bay.

No paperwork is necessary in order to utilize the service. The boat is available to all recreational boaters and is not limited to Monmouth County residents. Pump out service by the Greener Blue is free of charge.

Boaters can contact the Greener Blue by radio on VHF Channel 9 or by cell at 732-761-4997 on days the boat is operating. Services will be provided on a first come, first service basis.
