Through the First Time Home Buyer Program, the County partners with local lending institutions and nonprofit organizations to provide grants in the form of interest-free deferred second mortgages for down payment assistance. This program created by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and was established to assist lower income families in purchasing a home.
- You MUST BE a resident of Monmouth County for 1 YEAR before applying for a grant.
- ALL applicants must complete a pre-purchase housing counseling course and provide a certificate of completion with the First Time Homebuyer application.
