Upper Freehold – Replacement of Bridge U-45 on Arneytown-Hornerstown over Crosswicks Creek
The original bridge was built in 1958 and consisted of a five span timber substructure with a concrete plank deck. Due to its age and structural deficiencies, this bridge was closed to traffic while bridge replacement plans were designed and environmental permits were secured.
A contract for construction of the replacement bridge has been awarded to Lucas Brothers, Inc. of Morganville, NJ in the amount of $2,120,120.00. The new bridge will consist of a three span reinforced concrete substructure and a reinforced concrete deck with one sidewalk on the north side. Signed Detours are in place and will remain until the bridge is reopened. The proposed improvements are expected to be completed by the Summer of 2018.
