Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone interviewed Marcus Pettyjohn Jr. of
Samaha’s Farm in Aberdeen Township where they discussed the 60-year history of
the farm and what it is like to operate an agricultural business in Monmouth
County.
In this episode is also, the unveiling of the MonmouthNJ 250 Monument
at Swimming River Park in Middletown. In recognition of Monmouth County’s vital
role in the fight for independence, the Board of County Commissioners and the
MonmouthNJ 250 Committee set out to create a lasting work of art. The monument
features three bronze statues - The Family, The Fighter and The Patriot.
In the
Veterans Corner segment, Commissioner Susan M. Kiley interviewed Andrew
Clayton, an associate at the Brookdale Community College Veterans Center. Mr.
Clayton described the programs and services the center makes available to
veterans.
