Dominick “Nick” DiRocco is currently serving his second, three-year term, which expires on 12/31/25, on the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners. Commissioner DiRocco is the liaison to the Monmouth County Clerk and Records Management, County Administration, Department of Finance, Board of Taxation, Division of Weights and Measures, the Fire Marshal and Fire Academy, Human Resources, Information Technology, Insurance and Risk Management, the Vocational School District, and the Office of the Medical Examiner.
Prior to joining the Commissioner Board, Commissioner DiRocco served on the Wall Township Committee from 2014 through 2019 and served as Mayor in 2017.
An attorney, Commissioner DiRocco has worked in several public and private sector legal positions during his career, and presently works for a leading New Jersey energy company. Previously, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Chris Christie where he assisted in the planning, coordination, and implementation of the Governor's public policy agenda, and also held the position of Senior Counsel to the Governor where he provided legal advice on a wide array of matters including pending legislation, litigation, federal and state statutory responsibilities, and the development of administrative regulations and executive orders.
He briefly left the Governor's Office in June of 2013 when he was appointed Counsel to United States Senator Jeffrey S. Chiesa, where he served until the expiration of the Senator’s term in November of 2013. Prior to joining the Christie Administration, he was Assistant Vice President at the New Jersey Business and Industry Association and served as Legislative Director for the New Jersey Association of Counties.
After beginning his career as a law clerk to Superior Court Judge Harriet Derman, Commissioner DiRocco was appointed as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey where he handled a variety of civil and criminal issues, serving from 2000 to 2007.
He is also active in civic and community affairs at the State and local levels, having served on the Wall Township Planning Board for over ten years, including four years as Chairman. He is also a member of the New Jersey Local Finance Board and the State League of Municipalities Legislative Committee, and was formerly a member of the Board of Trustees of Ancora Psychiatric Hospital. He previously served as Chairman of the State Capitol Joint Management Commission, and also served as Governor Christie’s appointee to, and Chairman of, the NJ State House Commission for two years. He has also served as an adjunct instructor of social sciences at Ocean County College and as a guest faculty member of the New Jersey Attorney General’s Advocacy Institute.
Commissioner DiRocco earned his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law after graduating from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He resides with his wife Keri and their three daughters in Wall Township, NJ.
