A Weekend in Old Monmouth

Dr. Cooke's Medical Office

Visit almost 60 historic sites & museums for free the first weekend in May! A Weekend in Old Monmouth is an annual two-day event, which will take place on Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 3 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Before you head out, be sure to check out the virtual tour to help you plan your visit. In honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary, sites connected to the Revolutionary era or featuring special 250th programs are highlighted on the map with a star.

Nearly half of this year’s tour sites date to the Revolutionary era, and several are offering special exhibits or programs in recognition of this milestone. Together, they invite us to consider not only what happened here 250 years ago, but how those moments continue to echo through our communities today.

Whether you're on a computer, tablet, or smartphone, the virtual tour is easy to use and packed with fascinating details. Dive into the different routes, discover hidden gems, and get inspired for your in-person adventure!

Be sure to pick up a Weekend in Old Monmouth booklet at one of the sites. The booklet includes a map and a detailed description of each site. The booklet is a great resource to plan future visits to the sites you missed.
