NEW CLASS ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Monmouth County Fire Academy will be running the Fire Official Program. This New Jersey State Certification class will cover the following areas in preparation for the exam. *Administration *Supervision *Budgeting *Record Keeping * Legal Code Enforcement *Federal, State and Local Laws *Duties of the Fire Official *Coordination with Construction and Fire Sub Code Official. This class is limited to the first 25 students. Book requirement is a current New Jersey Uniform Fire Code Manual and Jones & Bartlett Principles of Fire Prevention 4th Edition. The Monmouth County Fire Academy will be running the Fire Officer 1 Program with a State Exam. All classes start at 1900hrs and all sessions must be attended to receive credit. All students must purchase the required text book published be Jones and Bartlett "Fire Officer Principles and Practices-4th Edition." This class is limited to the first 40 students.

The Monmouth County Fire Academy will be running Understanding Fire Dynamics Class April 2, 2026 at 1900hrs. The program is designed for firefighters and fire officers to help them understand the dynamics of a working fire. Effective communication and recognition of hostile fire events is crucial for ensuring safety on the fireground. Many topics will be covered in an interactive learning environment, including:
-Fire Chemistry -Reading Smoke -Flow Paths -Rollover -Flashover -Black Fire -Water Mapping -Thermal Rebound -Vent Point Ignition -Smoke Explosions -BLEVE (Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion)
YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PREVENT A HOSTILE FIRE EVENT, JUST DON'T BECOME PART OF IT!

This Officer 1 required class will be offered at Monmouth County Fire Academy. September 24, 26, October 1 and 3. Check Advanced classes for registration.

May 28, June 2, 4, 6, 9, 11, 13, 16 and 18, 2026 Final Exam 6/23/2026
Course Requirements: It is the student's responsibility to purchase the needed textbook prior to the start of the class. The textbooks required are: Fire and Emergency Services Instructor - 9th Edition and it's corresponding workbook. This book is available through the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA).

FALL DRILL GROUND ANNOUNCEMENT
Fall Drill Ground Semester runs from September 1, 2026 to November 15, 2026. Applications will be accepted after July 1, 2026
Reminder: All firefighters participating in any live burn training shall be NJ state certified FF1.
