Monmouth County Commissioners highlight the Borough of Monmouth Beach Shared
Services
Mayor recognizes exceptional service through PSAP
agreement
FREEHOLD, NJ – As part of their series
on successful shared services partnerships, the Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners would like to showcase the Shared Services agreements between
Monmouth County and the Borough of Monmouth Beach.
Monmouth
Beach joined a Public Safety Answering Point Agreement in 2009 with the
Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), Communications Division. Through this,
the Monmouth County 911 Communications Center can distribute all calls to
municipalities by call relay, transfer, or direct emergency dispatch.
"Under
the leadership of Sheriff Shaun Golden, the MCSO continues to set the standard
in emergency response,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to
the Office of Shared Services. “Shared service agreements, such as the Public
Safety Answering Point Agreement, that the Borough
of Monmouth Beach
has with the County provide high quality emergency services while maintaining a
cost-effective and sustainable approach.”
"The Borough of Monmouth Beach
has been partnering with Sheriff Office’s dispatch center for decades. It has
been a great asset to our small community by providing rapid dispatch for all
police, fire and EMS emergencies. Our police department relies heavily on the
service and it bolsters our officers with 24 hour a day assistance from
professionally trained radio dispatchers. We could not provide any of these
services as effectively or efficiently on our own and it is a comfort to know
that these technical operations are there at a moment’s notice,” said Tim
Somers, Mayor of Monmouth Beach.
“Our partnership through the Public Safety
Answering Point Agreement ensures that emergency calls and dispatch services
are handled promptly and effectively. The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office
Communications Division has had a great working relationship with Monmouth
Beach for many years and is proud to continue to provide the Borough with
professional, reliable, and coordinated emergency response services,” said
Sheriff Shaun Golden.
Monmouth
Beach also holds other Shared Services Agreements with Monmouth County such as
the Municipal Assistance, Commodity Resale, Open Public Records Search System (OPRS),
Tax Board MOD IV, Community Rating System Agreement and the Shrewsbury River
Automated Flood Warning.
The Monmouth County Office of Shared Services
facilitates partnerships with local government entities through which the
County provides services, equipment and resources to a local government which
helps to reduce costs and increase efficiencies.
