County Commissioners proclaim April
as National Donate Life Month
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of County
Commissioners has officially proclaimed April 2025 as National Donate Life
Month, recognizing the importance of organ and tissue donation, during a
workshop meeting held on April 15.
“National Donate Life Month is a time to educate
people about organ and tissue donation, and to honor and remember the donors
whose selfless gifts have saved and enhanced countless lives,” said
Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “One person’s decision to become an
organ and tissue donor brings hope to the more than 100,000 individuals
currently on the national transplant waiting list—including nearly 4,000 in New
Jersey who are waiting for a miracle.”
In New Jersey, NJ Sharing Network serves as the
official state affiliate of Donate Life America. According to their website,
the organization is dedicated to recovering and placing donated organs and
tissues for those in need of lifesaving transplants. They also provide ongoing
care and support to the courageous families who choose to give the gift of life
through donation.
“To learn more about becoming an organ or tissue
donor, visit njsharingnetwork.org or call 908-516-5400,” added Director Arnone.
