Monmouth County Surrogate opens
satellite office in Shrewsbury

SHREWSBURY, NJ – A new satellite location for the Monmouth County Surrogate’s Office has opened at the Monmouth County Library Eastern Branch in Shrewsbury.

“We are excited to welcome residents to our new satellite office at the Eastern Branch of the Monmouth County Library System and will continue serving the public at our satellite location at the Monmouth County Connection in Neptune and at our main office in Freehold,” said Surrogate Maureen T. Raisch. “I would like to thank the Middletown Public Library for previously hosting our satellite office and wish them well during their renovations.”

“On behalf of the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners, I would like to congratulate Surrogate Raisch on the opening of the new satellite office, which will accept appointments on the second Wednesday of every month from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “Residents can make appointments by emailing the office at Surrogate@co.monmouth.nj.us or by calling 732-431-7330, ext. 7336.”

“The Monmouth County Surrogate’s Office is responsible for handling personal and sensitive matters related to the probate of a loved one’s estate. The court also assists residents in obtaining necessary documents for estates, processing adoptions and guardianship matters,” said Commissioner Erik Anderson, liaison to the Surrogate’s Office. “This new satellite office will have a Probate Clerk available allowing residents the ability to probate a will or administer an estate in the absence of a will, obtain affidavits of surviving spouse or affidavits next of kin, and apply for a guardianship of a minor.”

“I am committed to providing dedicated and compassionate services to the residents of Monmouth County and their families, especially during the difficult time of grieving the loss of a loved one,” said Surrogate Raisch. “I strive to continuously improve the options available to residents and streamline procedures to make it more convenient for them to access our services.”
