County receives
2021 Workers’ Comp Risk Management Award for Excellence
County Safety Office, Benefits and Workforce Wellness Division
FREEHOLD, NJ – The
Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners is proud to announce that Monmouth
County’s Safety Office and the Benefits and Workforce Wellness Division have
been chosen as recipients of the 2021 Workers’ Comp Risk Management Award for
Excellence.
The Workers’ Comp
Risk Management Award of Excellence annually recognizes outstanding loss control,
safety and return-to-work programs sponsored by Sedgwick and Safety National in
conjunction with the Workers’ Compensation Institute (WCI).
“The County has done a fantastic job promoting strategies
that advocate the importance of a safe and healthy work environment for our
employees,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “The Benefits and
Workforce Wellness Division offers an array of events, such as the Pledge 10 weight-loss
event, Employee Walk Lunch Program, and webinars that show the benefits of physical
health, mental health and nutrition.”
“Thanks to the incredible efforts by our County
Safety Office and our Benefits and Workforce Wellness Division, workdays lost
to worker injury have been reduced by more than 80 percent, costs have dropped 74
percent and average claim costs have gone down 72 percent, all of which, are remarkable
feats,” said Commissioner Nick DiRocco, liaison to both the County Safety Office
and the Division of Benefits and Workforce Wellness. “Monmouth County is
committed to the overall wellness and safety of its employees and this award
highlights the hard work done to keep Monmouth County’s workforce safe, productive
and healthy.”
