Monmouth County Board of Health will provide Public
Health and Nursing Services to Shrewsbury
FREEHOLD,
NJ – The Monmouth County Board of Health, through the Monmouth County Health Department,
signed a five-year agreement to provide public health and nursing services to
the Borough of Shrewsbury starting Jan. 1, 2022.
“Today
we are proud to announce that the Monmouth County Board of Health and the
Borough of Shrewsbury have signed a five-year agreement where the Monmouth County
Board of Health will provide State mandated local health services to Shrewsbury,”
said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “This is a prime example of the
County and towns working together to ensure residents receive the best services
possible.”
The Borough
of Shrewsbury will become a member in the Monmouth County Board of Health
system effective Jan.1, 2022 and the County will provide Shrewsbury with any
and all current and future State mandated public health services required by statute,
law, code regulation and/or directive which shall satisfy any and all health
service obligations of Shrewsbury.
“With
this agreement, the County Board of Health will provide technical and
professional services to assure the provisions of core public health services,”
said Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley, liaison to the Monmouth
County Health Department. “These services include planning, organizing and
implementing public health activities within the municipality, leading investigations
into public health emergency and disasters, and assessing any other public health
needs the municipality may need,”
