Middletown-Lincroft Road to close for pedestrian bridge replacement

MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Middletown-Lincroft Road, from West Front Street and Nutswamp Road, will close to vehicular traffic at 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 20 and remain closed until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21 to replace the pedestrian bridge over Crooked Run Brook.

The bridge is being replaced due to age and normal deterioration.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this road closure causes as the pedestrian bridge is being replaced,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the County’s Department of Public Works and Engineering. “We appreciate the patience of those who travel on Middletown-Lincroft Road during this construction project and will work to get it done as quickly as possible.”

Middletown-Lincroft Road will remain open to pedestrians and local traffic only up to the point of the closure. All other motorists should follow the posted detours. All traffic should expect travel delays throughout the entire project.

The work is being performed by Lima Charlie Construction, Inc. of Freehold.

In total, the County maintains approximately 1,000 lane miles of roads, 980 bridges and culverts and 250 traffic signals and beacons.
