Glimmer Glass Bridge maintenance to be performed
Bridge cables will be realigned Thursday, July 8

MANASQUAN, NJ – The Glimmer Glass Bridge (W-9) will be closed on Thursday, July 8 between the hours of 4 and 8 a.m. while maintenance work is performed.

“The cables on the bridge need to be realigned, so we will need to close the bridge for four hours,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Department of Public Works and Engineering. “We appreciate the patience of our residents and visitors while this maintenance work is being performed.”

The bridge will continue to operate normally for marine traffic, but is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic while the work is being performed.

In total, the County maintains approximately 1,000 lane miles of roads, 980 bridges and culverts and 250 traffic signals and beacons.
