First
Public Meeting on the Comprehensive Freight Related Transportation Study
Moving Mindfully:
Monmouth/Mercer Counties
FREEHOLD,
NJ – On Tuesday, Oct. 2, the Monmouth County Division of Planning will hold its
first public meeting for Moving Mindfully: Monmouth\Mercer, A Comprehensive Freight
Related Transportation Study for Western Monmouth and Southern Mercer Counties.
The
meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. (with a presentation at 7:30 p.m.) at
Stone Bridge Middle School 1252 Yardville-Allentown Road in Upper Freehold
Township.
This
study, funded by the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, will
identify short- and long-term strategies in Allentown, Robbinsville, and Upper
Freehold intended to manage freight- related travel issues and avoid conflicts
based on travel patterns, existing and projected conditions, and planned
developments.
At the
Oct. 2 meeting, attendees will learn about the project and have opportunities
to ask questions and provide input. Public feedback will be solicited on
project goals and key issues and problem areas within the study area. Two
additional public meetings are planned for January and April 2019.
The final
report, to be issued in June 2019, will provide recommendations that are
intended to ease freight related congestion and promote a safe traveling
environment for all road users.
