Give Blood; Give Life
Receive a $10 gasoline or Amazon card
July 11 blood drive pairs Monmouth County with Central Jersey Blood Center

FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders will host its annual summer Blood Drive at the County Agricultural Building from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11 to help reduce the mid-summer blood shortage.

“Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood, according to the American Red Cross,” said Freeholder Pat Impreveduto, liaison to the Monmouth County Health Department. “Blood donors help patients of all ages from accident and burn victims to heart surgery patients to organ transplant patients and more. By donating blood at our annual summer blood drive you will be saving the lives of your neighbors in Monmouth County.”

Appointments are encouraged, but not necessary. Call 732-842-5750, ext. 243 and ask for Karen McGowan, if you would like to make an appointment.

The Central Jersey Blood Center (CJBC) is offering $10 gasoline cards or Amazon gift cards to every person who donates blood during the July 11 blood drive.

The CJBC reminds donors that they must eat before donating. Donors must also be healthy, at least 17 years old and weigh at least 120 pounds. All equipment is sterile and disposable, and donors can give blood every eight weeks, if they wish.
