Chief Cerrato

John J. Cerrato, the Chief Sheriff's Officer, is the highest ranking uniformed officer within the Sheriff's Office's Law Enforcement Division and is responsible for the daily operation of the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Division. There are 118 sworn officers and 29 civilian support personnel with an operating budget of over four million dollars. Chief Cerrato's primary responsibilities are to direct the activities of subordinate staff in handling personnel matters, prepare the operating budget and ensure the budget is implemented properly. The Chief is responsible for the proper coordination and deployment of manpower, handling civilian complaints, establishing and developing new work methods and implementing policies and procedures.
