Glimmer Glass Bridge Maintenance on Thursday

Half-day closure for span that connects Brielle and Manasquan

BRIELLE, NJ – The Glimmer Glass Bridge (W-9) along Fisk Avenue between Brielle and Manasquan will undergo routine maintenance repairs on Thursday, May 18 between noon and 4 p.m, weather permitting.

To perform these repairs, the Monmouth County Division of Bridges will close the structure’s roadway. Vehicles and pedestrians should plan to use an alternate route during this time. Detour signs will be posted.

The bridge will remain in the “up” position, allowing for continued use by marine traffic.

“Monmouth County’s movable bridges are important connectors for residents and visitors,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the County’s Department of Public Works and Engineering. “The safety of all travelers, on the road and on the water, is a priority. To limit the inconvenience to motor vehicle traffic, this maintenance work is scheduled for a half-day.”
