Give blood on July 14, get $10 gasoline or Amazon card
Blood drive pairs Monmouth County with

FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders will host its annual summer Blood Drive at the County Agricultural Building from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 14 to help reduce the mid-summer blood shortage.

The County is proud to partner with the Central Jersey Blood Center for this critical summer blood drive,” said Freeholder John P. Curley. “I encourage everyone in the county to give blood, and this Monmouth County sponsored blood drive is a great place to start.”

The Central Jersey Blood Center (CJBC) is offering $10 gasoline cards or Amazon gift cards to every person who donates blood during the July 14 blood drive.

Appointments are encouraged, but not necessary. Call 732-842-5750, ext. 243 and ask for Karen Moore, if you would like to make an appointment.

“Summer is an unusually slow time for blood donations,” said Curley. “This blood drive is a great opportunity to help keep blood supplies at a safe level. The summer season has a very high activity level, and is the most viable for blood donations. The drive provides gift cards to express their gratitude to those who successfully donate.”

The CJBC reminds donors that they must eat before donating. Donors must also be healthy, at least 17 years old and weigh at least 120 pounds. All equipment is sterile and disposable, and donors can give every eight weeks, if they wish.
