Freeholders recognize Andrews as NJ Environmental Health Association’s Health Specialist of the Year
FREEHOLD, NJ- Kathleen M. Andrews was honored by the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders for her selection by the state’s Environmental Health Association as Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) of the Year.
Andrews works in the County’s Department of Health as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist and was chosen because of the major role she has played in the field of public and environmental health.
“Kate is always well-prepared and ready to discuss and advise on a diversity of important health topics,” said Freeholder John P. Curley. “She plays a key role in keeping officials, communities and residents up-to-date on current issues, and she is a valuable resource for the Health Department and Monmouth County. She is highly respected by her colleagues at the local, state and federal levels. Kate's expertise in an area such as lead poisoning and sharing her knowledge is only one example of why she is most deserving of this award.”
Curley was joined by the other freeholders who presented a certificate of accomplishment to Andrews. To commemorate Andrews’ award, the freeholders declared March 24, 2016 as “Kathleen M. Andrews Day.” The REHS award is given to an outstanding association member who has made major impact in the field of public and environmental health.
