“The Chinese New Year is a celebration of a year of hard work and a time to hope for a lucky and prosperous coming year,” said Arnone. “Last year, Monmouth County worked tirelessly on behalf of the taxpayers and now it is time to look toward making 2016 a prosperous year.”

Principal Yunghui Lai and Lin Lombardi, Director of Curriculum-Culture, accepted the proclamation on behalf of the school.

“One of the main traditions of celebrating the Chinese New Year is gathering with family and exchange well wishes,” said DiMaso. “The Jersey Shore Chinese School welcomed us into their celebration and truly made everyone there feel like a part of their family. It was a great event and a pleasure to be a part of the festivities.”

Founded in 1979, the objective of the Jersey Shore Chinese School is to introduce and promote interest in the Chinese language, culture and art.

The school offers various classes in Chinese language for students with different levels of proficiency.
