Freeholders honor Manasquan state champs

Girls basketball team wins two state titles

 

SPRING LAKE, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders recognized the Manasquan High School Big Blue girls basketball team for winning the 2015 New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Girls Basketball Tournament of Champions. The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders presents certificates of recognition to the Manasquan High School girls basketball team for winning the 2015 New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Tournament of Champions at their regular public meeting on April 23 in Spring Lake, NJ.

“These dedicated young women should be very proud of their accomplishments,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Serena DiMaso. “They won the NJSIAA Central Group 2 Girls Basketball Championship and the Tournament of Champions, giving them two state titles.”

Led by Head Coach Lisa Kukoda, the Big Blue roster includes Gillian Black, Stella Clark, Victoria Galvan, Carly Geissler, Courtney Hagaman, Maggie Kelly, Alex Kurtz, Dara Mabrey, Marina Mabrey, Addie Masonius, Emma McMenaman and Molly Read

At their regular meeting held at Spring Lake Borough Hall on April 24, the Freeholders presented the team members with certificates of recognition.

The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association, founded in 1918, is a voluntary, non-profit organization made up of 433 accredited public, private and non-public high schools in the state. The NJSIAA conducts tournaments, and crowns champions in thirty one sports.
