Freeholders honor CBA state champs
Christian Brothers Academy wins ice hockey state title
FREEHOLD, NJ – The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders recognized the Christian Brothers Academy Ice Hockey Team winning
the 2015 New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA)/Devils Non-Public
Ice Hockey Championship.
“It is an honor and a privilege to celebrate your state championship title with you,” said Freeholder John P. Curley, a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy. “I admire your tenacity and your abilities. You have all worked hard and we commend you for your well-deserved title.”
The Christian Brothers Academy Ice Hockey team was led by Coach Ryan Bogan and Assistant Coach Timothy Grable. The roster of players includes: Ryan Bogan, Michael Cernero, Corey Clifton, Derek Contessa, Anthony Cucich, John D'Aniello, Nicolas Dietrich, Dean DiFazio, John Downey, Brett Farrell, Timothy Grable, Jr., Christopher Hayes, Bjorn Kvaale, Bryan Laureigh, Gregory Malafronte, Joseph Marsicano, Liam Noonan, Mitchell Shafer, James Stanger, Austen Tieri, Conor Tierney, Ryan Tierney, James Timko, Sam Weber, Cristian Winters and Stephen Zawada.
“These dedicated young men should be very proud of their State Championship title,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Serena DiMaso. “Through hard work and dedication, they have brought honor to their schools, their families and the entire County.”
At their regular meeting on March 26, the Freeholders presented the team members with certificates of recognition.
The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association, founded in 1918, is a voluntary, non-profit organization made up of 433 accredited public, private and non-public high schools in the state. The NJSIAA conducts tournaments, and crowns champions in thirty one sports.
