Edgemont Drive to close March 24

Road closed for installation of temporary sanitary force main

 

LOCH ARBOUR, NJ –On Tuesday, March 24, Edgemont Drive between Main Street and Norwood Avenue (State Route 71) will be closed for the installation of a temporary sanitary force main.

Weather permitting, this work is expected to take two days and is being completed in advance of the replacement of County Bridge O-11 on Main Street over Deal Lake.

“Before the bridge is replaced, there are various projects that will need to be completed, such as this installation of a temporary sanitary force main,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Department of Public Works and Engineering. “This fall, Monmouth County will replace the bridge on Main Street that crosses over Deal Lake.” 

Motorists should expect travel delays in the area throughout while this work is completed. Police will be on site to direct traffic during the closure.

The works is being performed by Precise Construction Inc. The cost of construction is $3,835,303.50.

In total, the County maintains of approximately 1,000 lane miles of roads, 980 bridges and culverts and 250 traffic signals and beacons.
