Church Street repaving to begin Monday

Matawan-Aberdeen road to be detoured two days

 

MATAWAN, NJ – Monmouth County Department of Public Works and Engineering crews will be repaving Church Street between Broad Street and Atlantic Avenue, weather permitting, on Monday, July 28 and Tuesday, July 29 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

Motorists in on Church Street should follow the posted detours.

 

“This repaving project is an example of the County’s Shared Services program in action,” Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone said. “The County works with municipal leaders to reduce the cost of projects and save taxpayer money.”

 

In total, the County maintains of approximately 1,000 lane miles of roads, 980 bridges and culverts and 250 traffic signals and beacons. 

 

“The County understands the inconvenience that this work may have on the motoring public in Matawan-Aberdeen and we will work to get Church Street reopened as quickly as possible,” said Arnone.
