Exhibitors wanted for Archives and History Day
Event set for Library HQ on Oct. 11
MANALAPAN, NJ – It is time for New Jersey history-related organizations to register for Archives and History Day at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters in Manalapan, organized by the Monmouth County Archives, on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
“I encourage anyone interested in having an exhibit table to contact the County Archives as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on this great event,” said Freeholder Director Lillian G. Burry. “It is so important for historical and governmental organizations to get involved in sharing our history with the public.”
Exhibit tables for archives, historical societies, government agencies, local history collections at public libraries, and other not-for-profit history organizations are still available. More than sixty groups have already signed up.
The theme this year is New Jersey’s Civil War and Joseph W. Becton, the featured speaker, will present “Music of the Civil War Era.” An exhibit on the Civil War in New Jersey will be on display in the library beginning Oct. 1.
The complete event also includes a History Forum, awards presentations and a history game with prizes, as well as a tour of the Monmouth County Archives, for which reservation is required.
