New Bedford Road bridge
closed for emergency repair

Repair work to last between two and four weeks

 

WALL, NJ –New Bedford Road between Mill Pond Court and Troy Drive will be closed beginning today at 2 p.m. to replace the bridge deck at County Bridge W-22.

 

It is estimated that these repairs will take between four and six weeks to complete.

 

“This emergency work must be done to reopen the bridge to the public,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the County’s Department of Public Works and Engineering. “We appreciate the patience of the travelling public while we work to perform these necessary repairs. Monmouth County works to keep its bridges in safe, working order.”

 

New Bedford Road will be open to local traffic, however the roadway will be closed at the bridge to allow the Monmouth County Division of Bridges staff to perform necessary repairs to the bridge deck.

 

Motor vehicle traffic on New Bedford Road will be directed west at Allaire Road to Baileys Corner Road to 18th Avenue and east at Wall Church Road to Route 35.
