County’s Culinary Center wins

Atlantic City Chef’s Gold Award

Compete in County Cook-Off in Atlantic City

 

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Students from the Monmouth County Culinary Education Center showed off their talent at the County Cook-Off at the 2014 New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC) Annual Conference with their award-winning salmon dish and presentation. Freeholder Deputy Director Gary J. Rich, Sr. and Freeholder Serena DiMaso congratulate Monmouth County Culinary Education Center instructor Barbara Roselli and students Chantelle Perez, Jesica Santamaria Delgado, Nikolis LoCascio, Jamie Denza and Raven O’Connor for winning two awards at the County Cook-Off at the NJAC Annual Conference on May 9, 2014 in Atlantic City, NJ. The Monmouth County team won the Atlantic City Chef’s Award for presentation and the People's Choice Award bronze award.

“It was exciting to have the County represented at the NJAC County Cook-Off,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Gary J. Rich, Sr. “Their professional attitude and stunning presentation created a recipe for success and it was great to watch the team win two awards for Monmouth County.”

The Monmouth County team won the Atlantic City Chef’s Award for presentation and the People's Choice Award bronze award for their pecan crusted salmon that was topped with an apricot honey sauce and served over micro greens with a berry balsamic dressing.

“All of the counties had great presentations, but Monmouth County’s was exceptional,” said Freeholder Serena DiMaso. “The Culinary Center students and faculty should be very proud of this well-deserved accomplishment.”
 
The students that represented the Monmouth County Culinary Education Center were Jesica Santamaria Delgado, Jamie Denza, Nikolis LoCascio, Raven O’Connor and Chantelle Perez. Their instructors were Barbara Roselli and Jaime Soto.

The Culinary Education Center is a collaboration between Brookdale Community College and Monmouth County Vocational School District. The Culinary Education Center offers a comprehensive, innovative food preparation and management program of study to students.
