County is gearing up for Made in Monmouth

Free event coincides with County food drive

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth County is gearing up for their third “Made in Monmouth” event to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 at Monmouth University. Admission is free.

“This event gives our talented and creative residents the opportunity to show-off and sell their merchandise that is made right here in Monmouth County,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone. “With such a wide variety of vendors, offering everything from soy candles to watercolor paintings and fine jewelry, ‘Made in Monmouth’ is the perfect place to spend the day and shop locally.”

Confirmed vendors for “Made in Monmouth” include That’s How I Knot, who make affordable and unique handmade macramé jewelry using everything from sea glass to Swarovski crystals; Trapper’s Honey who produces honey from bees on local farms; Susan Fairgrieve Design, who produce coastal themed and inspired artwork, stationery and items for the sea lovers; The Chocolate Lounge, LLC, who make handmade gourmet chocolates, and fudge, favors and gift baskets, and The Hangover Pretzel Company who claim to make the “best sourdough pretzels on the planet.”

“When you head over to Made in Monmouth, please consider helping the County fight hunger by bringing a nonperishable food donation,” said Freeholder John P. Curley. “The County is sponsoring a food drive for the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties for the entire month of April, so there will be food collection bins at this year’s event.”

Made in Monmouth is organized by the Grow Monmouth team within the County’s Division of Economic Development. Grow Monmouth officials have met with hundreds of business, civic and government leaders in recent months to provide state-of-the-art economic development services. It has become a major public-private project to create and preserve jobs in Monmouth County.

Interested producers and manufacturers are encouraged to register online at www.visitmonmouth.com or contact the County’s Division of Economic Development at 732-431-7470 for more information.

The list of participating vendors will be published on the County website at www.visitmonmouth.com.
