March events at the County Connection

Free seminars and programs offered throughout the month

NEPTUNE, NJ – The Monmouth County Connection will host several informative programs for residents during the month of March, covering a variety of topics including taxes, vegetable gardening and genealogy research.

As the tax code becomes increasingly complicated many people have questions about filing a tax return. Are the correct forms being filed? Is there the potential for a refund? What is the age limit when claiming a dependent? AARP volunteers will answer these questions and many more on Tuesday, March 4 and Tuesday, March 18 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, March 5 from 11 a.m. to noon, the Master Gardeners will present a lecture on learning the essential skills needed to successfully grow a vegetable garden. Learn about the benefits of having a vegetable garden, what vegetables are best to grow in New Jersey, where to get started, choosing the right site, and the difference of starting a garden with plants verses seeds.

The Monmouth County Archives are home to records dating back centuries. Learn about the historic government records preserved at the archives and how to access resources to learn more about your Monmouth County ancestors on Wednesday, March 12 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

The County Connection also offers the following recurring programs every month:

  • Meet with a Medicare Counselor every Wednesday by appointment.
  • Meet with a Monmouth County Surrogate representative on first and third Thursdays by appointment.
  • Meet with Monmouth County Veteran Services Office on second and fourth Thursdays by appointment.

All programs are free and open to all Monmouth County residents, but registration is required. To register, please call 732-303-2828.
