EATONTOWN, NJ – The Monmouth County Workforce Investment Board has announced that the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program will be offered in three sessions at their 145 Wyckoff Rd. office.

“VITA is an IRS-sponsored program to help low and middle-income workers have their federal and state personal income taxes prepared and filed electronically at no cost,” said Freeholder Serena DiMaso, liaison to the Division of Workforce Development. “Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this free program and all of the services offered by the Division of Workforce Development.”

The program will be offered from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4; Tuesday, March 18; and Tuesday, April 1 at the County’s Division of Workforce Development located at 145 Wyckoff Rd. in Eatontown.

VITA works to ensure that workers receive the tax credits to which they are entitled. This year, a family with 3 or more children may receive an Earned Income Tax Credit refund of up to $6,044.

To be eligible for the VITA program, you must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • Households with up to 3 dependents who earn $52,000 or less,
  • Households with more dependents, add $10,000 more per child
