County Clerk Claire French is 2014 NJAC president
Takes leadership of State association
FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Clerk M. Claire French was sworn-in as
the 73rd President of the New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC) today in the Senate Chambers of the State House in Trenton.
“I look forward to leading NJAC this year as it continues serving county governments throughout the State with its solution driven approach to addressing complex legislative and regulatory matters,” said French. “The vision and commitment of the officers and board of directors will lead this outstanding organization at a critical period in the history our great State.”
Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno administered the oath of office to French.
“Claire French is a friend and a mentor,” said Guadagno. “Claire has long been a leader in Monmouth County - she has served as the mayor of Wall, lead the Monmouth County Improvement Authority, is in her fourth term as Monmouth County Clerk and she now will lead this great statewide organization.”
Also serving as 2014 NJAC executive officers are Mercer County Freeholder Ann Cannon as First Vice President, Bergen County Administrator Ed Trawinski as Second Vice President, Gloucester County Freeholder Heather Simmons as Secretary/Treasurer, and Hudson County Freeholder Jeffrey Dublin as Immediate Past President.
“Claire is a tremendous asset to our County and the counties of New Jersey are fortunate to have her at the helm,” said Freeholder Director Lillian G. Burry. “Claire commits fully to everything she does and works tirelessly. On behalf of the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, I congratulate Claire on becoming the president of NJAC.”
Freeholder Deputy Director Gary J. Rich, Sr. is the County’s representative to NJAC. Freeholder Director Lillian G. Burry is the County’s alternate representative.
