Two information sessions scheduled for April 24
FREEHOLD, NJ – The public information meeting about the scheduled improvements to County Route 537, from Gravel Hill Road to State Highway 33 Business, is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24 at the Freehold Borough Hall, Council Room, 51 West Main St.
A second public information meeting will be held in Freehold Township from 6 to 8 p.m. on April 24 at the Senior Center, 116 Jackson Mills Rd.
The public is invited to attend a presentation of the current design plans and ask questions regarding the project.
“Monmouth County is planning improvements to the 2.8-mile section of County Route 537,” Freeholder Deputy Director Thomas A. Arnone said. “For people who are unable to attend the meeting they should visit the county website at www.visitmonmouth.com to learn more about this project. Written comments will be accepted through Wednesday, May 25.”
The meetings are part of a local concept development process that includes community input, coordination with other transportation agencies, data collection and the development of design concepts with alternatives. The county will also investigate the environmental, right of way, access, utilities, design, community involvement, constructability and cost of the improvements.
Transportation agencies involved in the project are the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, the state Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration and the permitting agencies.
