Thank-you for visiting the MCDOT web site. We hope the information provided here is helpful to you. We are always looking for new suggestions to improve the public's understanding of the serviced available to them. If you have any questions, please fax or Mail them to us.

Our goal is to provide the maximum possible number of trips for our transportation dependant residents of Monmouth County within available resources. We do this through a combination of in-house service referred to as SCAT and through contracts with private vendors to provide "shared ride" taxi service. Services are funded through a combination of Title 3, Older Americans Act, Casino Revenue, section 5311, county funds and fares and payments in lieu of fares from various organizations. For service funded by section 5311, County and Casino revenue, service is provided on a first come first served basis. We do try to make special accommodations for life sustaining medical needs such as kidney dialysis.

We aggressively pursue new funding sources in our continual aim in providing more and better service to the residents of Monmouth County. We are committed to the concept that through combining all transportation resources, a community transportation system result that provides the greatest benefit to the most number of people. This cross subsidization together with the support of the Board of Chosen Freeholders has been a hallmark of our system that in 1998 provided over 450,000 one way trips and was the largest paratransit service in New jersey.
